چکیده

Computer users, especially mobile ones, have developed a significant dependency on electronic communication. Enhancing the capabilities of such communication by adding an awareness of context such as location and time increases the quality and intuitiveness of the services available to the mobile user. This paper describes the design and implementation of a context-aware messaging system called LATTE (Location And Time Triggered Email). LATTE is based on the email paradigm, and extends it to include dynamic consideration of location and time to determine the appropriate recipients for a message. It uses SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) for message delivery and an event middleware as the underlying communication infrastructure.

Practical Third-Party Attestation for the Cloud

Central to establishing trust in a service is knowing what code is running. On a single host, this can be ensured by locally downloading and compiling code, including the operating system image. However, this is not possible for programs that are run by another party: even if the source code is known and available to a client, she cannot verify that a service is actually running that trusted co...

Dynamic Path Profile Aided Recompilation in a JAVA Just-In-Time Compiler

Just-in-Time (JIT) compilers for Java can be augmented by making use of runtime profile information to produce better quality code and hence achieve higher performance. In a JIT compilation environment, the profile information obtained can be readily exploited in the same run to aid recompilation and optimization of frequently executed (hot) methods. This paper discusses a low overhead path pro...

Analysis of Applying Event-triggered Strategy on the Model Predictive Control

In this paper, the event-triggered strategy in the case of finite-horizon model predictive control (MPC) is studied and its advantages over the input to state stability (ISS) Lyapunov based triggering rule is discussed. In the MPC triggering rule, all the state trajectories in the receding horizon are considered to obtain the triggering rule. Clearly, the finite horizon MPC is sub-optimal with ...
